Galeria Szczur, a new art space in Poznań founded by Agnieszka Topolska, Wiara Wojtaszczyk, Daniel Dąbrowski, and Andrzej Staniek, kicks off the new season with the group exhibition "Reception"—a celebration of shared creative space. Working with organic materials and exploring the entanglement of nature and culture, the artists reflect on adaptation, transformation, and coexistence, alluding to the gallery's symbolic patron—the rat.

After several months of settling in and familiarizing itself with the space, the Gallery is opening the new season with a lavish "Reception," which will begin on the last evening of this summer. The event will be an opportunity to introduce and learn more about the creators of the Rat and their space for meeting, working together, and sharing.

The "Reception" showcased works by artists who, by tending the gallery, simultaneously develop their individual, yet intersecting, creative paths. Each person processes, interferes with, or enters into direct relationships with organic matter. The Rat—the symbolic patron of this space—is a synanthropic species that, faced with human expansionism, which is taking over ever larger areas of nature, has adapted to function in an environment significantly altered by humans, creating new forms of interspecies coexistence. Similarly, artists, whether guided by intuition, subjected to purifying, almost ritualistic processes, or creating forms that synthesize the issues they explore, navigate the issues of the natural-cultural nature of contemporary times, our entanglement and entanglement within them. By accepting external stimuli, they open themselves to their mutation, experiencing them, and generating new meanings.
